A cheerful little ditty.
Conversations with my shadow self. Little voices turn in to little people, Who sit in a judgement circle. Archetypes of the different self, And the shadow self sits as judge. Hope to its left and faith to the right, As the drama queen calls for order. The pacifist dreams The defense placates the tragedy, As the prosecutor states the facts! Like the slaughter man displays the entrails; Nerves ripped raw, and feeling exposed. The question? The question asked once more,? Again and again, It echoes Around and around in a thoughtless skull, Who am I? The child that was?, A man incomplete?, A day before its dawn? I am an illness, A person or the prison? I am all this and so much more! I am the kind heart! The soft ear, The wise mind, The open heart I am the shadow. The grey that stands between dark and light, The sanity in madness, The yin in the yang, The goddess and the god Yes I am all this, But so much less, Second class, A madman and fool, The time waster, Loony Benefit scrounger Unloved and Ugly, A burden to all, The mind displays thoughts in several monochrome forms, Playing history in distorted views, Lies wrapped in half truths, Attacking body and soul, As the silent screams echoes in the void, The mortal form reflects normality, While hiding the darkest truth. Now the battle begins, As physical reflection battles the shadow self, I watch each blow in the battle for my mind, Realising no matter who wins, The battle will never end. It’s a borderline personality thing.
